Gunawardena &#8211; National Hospital of Sri Lanka, Colombo 10<br>Dr. Saman Peduruhewa &#8211; Colombo South Teaching Hospital, Kalubowila<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Introduction:<br>In 2019, a novel Corona virus, known as Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS COV-2) was identified in Wuhan, China. It was declared as a pandemic by World Health Organization in March 2020. As of the February 2021, more than 113 million cases and more than 2.5 million deaths have been reported worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ministry of Health, Sri Lanka has initiated the vaccination program for the high-risk category since the beginning of the year 2021 with COVISHIELD vaccine (ChAdOx1 nCOV-19 recombinant non\u2013replicating viral vector vaccine). It induces a humoral response and showed a similar immune response as appeared in the convalescent plasma of infected individuals. Antibody response to any infection or vaccine could have differences due to genetic factors, comorbidities, age, sex ect. Therefore, the expected immune response has not observed in certain individuals after vaccination.
