General objective<\/b><\/p>\n

The objectives of this research is first, to explore the efficacy and acceptability of a brief intervention, delivered by primary care nurses, for the reduction of suicidal ideation, repetition of self-harm, and the improvement of interpersonal problem solving skills and distress tolerance, in people who have recently attempted non-fatal self-poisoning; and second to explore the feasibility and acceptability of such intervention among primary care nurses.<\/p>\n

Specific objectives<\/b><\/p>\n

1. To determine the incidence of violent events in dating among undergraduates in state government universities in the Western Province<\/p>\n

2. To describe types of dating violence among undergraduates in selected state universities in the Western Province<\/p>\n

3. To describe consequences following dating violence among undergraduates in selected state universities in the Western Province<\/p>\n

4. To determine associated factors of dating violence among undergraduates in selected state universities in the Western Province<\/p>\n

5. To determine the effectiveness of an educational intervention in relation to improvement in knowledge and attitudes to develop healthy dating relationships among undergraduates subjected to dating violence in selected state universities in the Western Province<\/p>\n
