EXPRESSION OF INTEREST.
For Private–Public Partnership in R & D activities for Economic Development - 2017.

The Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) scheme introduced by the National Research Council (NRC) four years ago has demonstrated the practicality and effectiveness of the collaboration between private sector industrial enterprises and universities as well as pubic sector R&D institutions.

Based on our experience and with a view to support the Government’s medium-term economic strategies, NRC has formulated a scheme for the selection, financing and monitoring the collaborative partnerships between productive business enterprises and the universities, R&D institutions as well as scientists & technologists in the country.

The Expression of Interest (EOI) should clearly identify the Research & Development needs that are to be addressed and their commercial potential.

A BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INFORMATION TO BE PROVIDED FOLLOWS:

1. PROPOSED R & D ACTIVITY

A description of the proposed R & D activity should be provided including the envisaged product/process to be developed. It should be in alignment with the business strategies of the private partner and be commercially feasible. Please provide very specific details, in not more than 500 words.

2. PARTNERSHIP TYPE

Public Partner: Universities, R & D Institutes, Corporations, Ministries (to provide research expertise)
Private Partner: Private or Public commercial enterprises

Expression of Interest has to be submitted by clearly identified Public Partner and Private Partner

3. FUNDING

Total cost of the research project will be equally shared between the private partner and the NRC. An approximate budget should be provided. Sharing of benefits accruing from the output of the project is to be negotiated.

SUBMISSION

The Format for EOI can be downloaded from the NRC website, mentioned below. Submission should not be more than four pages. The NRC will take all necessary steps to ensure confidentiality of the proposal. Submissions will be accepted up to 07th April 2017; however EOI will be processed on a first come basis.
